Our black bean tempeh has a slightly bolder, earthier flavour than the chickpea tempeh – with a dense, firm texture that develops beautiful roasted notes when fried. Ideal for hearty dishes, marinades and anything that needs a bit of bite.
Handcrafted in Hamburg using black beans from Austrian non-conventional farming – soy-free, gluten-free and free from additives. Sliced, it reveals a beautiful bean pattern.
Preparation: Cut into cubes or strips and fry in oil over medium heat until golden. Deglaze with soy sauce, tamari or a bold marinade – the dense texture absorbs flavours particularly well. Also works great in the air fryer, oven or on the grill.

Dark spots are the natural spores of the mould, occur as part of the ripening process and are completely harmless.
